Pick a date the whole group can do
Picking a date stalls when everyone says “I can probably do any of them.” Put the candidate dates in a Rankd and send the link. Each person ranks them privately, so the date that works best for the most people rises to the top, and a date someone truly can’t make sinks to the bottom.

Free. Add your own options (these are just examples), then send one link to your group.
Why ranking beats a regular poll here
- People rank dates by how well they work, not just yes or no, so “I could make it but it’s rough” counts.
- A date that is fine for everyone beats one that is perfect for half the group.
- It takes about a minute, so you get answers before people forget to reply.
How it works
- Add the question and 3 to 30 options
- Send one private link to the group
- Everyone ranks privately, in about a minute
- You reveal the winner
Tips
- Keep it to 3 to 6 dates; more than that and the bottom of everyone’s list gets random.
- Tell people to rank a date they can’t make last.
- Set a reveal time so you can book once the group has answered.
Questions
Is this a scheduling poll?
Not quite. A scheduling poll asks who is free on each date. Rankd asks everyone to put the dates in order, so you see which one the group prefers overall. If someone can’t make a date at all, they rank it last and can mention it in the group chat.
Can people see how I ranked?
No. Each person’s order stays private. Everyone sees the group’s final order and where they personally landed, never anyone else’s individual ranking.
Is it free? Does everyone need the app?
Rankd is free and runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download. Friends open the link from any group chat (iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email) and rank in about a minute.
