Narrow down baby names together
When you have a shortlist of baby names, saying “I don’t love that one” out loud can be awkward. Rankd lets you and your partner each rank the names privately, then reveal how they compare. Some parents also invite close family to rank for fun, while keeping the final say for themselves.

Why ranking beats a regular poll here
- Private rankings make it easier to be honest about names you’re lukewarm on.
- The combined order shows which names you both rank highly.
- Keep the link private to just the two of you, or share it with family.
How it works
- Add the question and 3 to 12 options
- Send one private link to the group
- Everyone ranks privately, in about a minute
- You reveal the winner
Tips
- Rank first names first, then run a second Rankd for middle-name pairings.
- Say the full name out loud with your last name before ranking.
Questions
Who can see the names?
Group ranks are private links. Only people you send the link to can open it, and they never appear in public search on Rankd.
Can people see how I ranked?
No. Each person’s order stays private. Everyone sees the group’s final order and where they personally landed, never anyone else’s individual ranking.
Is it free? Does everyone need the app?
Rankd is free and runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download. Friends open the link from any group chat (iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email) and rank in about a minute.
