What should we watch tonight?
Movie night loses twenty minutes to scrolling and “I’m fine with anything.” Shortlist a few titles, send the Rankd link, and let everyone rank them before you sit down. The winner is the movie the room likes most overall, so nobody gets stuck with their least favorite.
- Comedy
- Horror
- Documentary
- Rom-com
- Action
Free. Edit the options, then send one link to your group.
Why ranking beats a regular poll here
- People rank instead of arguing, so you start the movie sooner.
- A movie that is everyone’s second choice can beat one that half the room hates.
- It works for genres early on, or specific titles once you have a shortlist.
How it works
- Add the question and 3 to 12 options
- Send one private link to the group
- Everyone ranks privately, in about a minute
- You reveal the winner
Tips
- Rank genres first, then run a second Rankd with titles in the winning genre.
- Keep a running Rankd for a family movie list and reveal one each week.
Questions
Can kids rank too?
Yes. Anyone with the link can rank on a phone or tablet. Each person signs in with Google to lock in their ranking, so one person can’t vote twice.
Can people see how I ranked?
No. Each person’s order stays private. Everyone sees the group’s final order and where they personally landed, never anyone else’s individual ranking.
Is it free? Does everyone need the app?
Rankd is free and runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download. Friends open the link from any group chat (iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email) and rank in about a minute.
