Let the audience crown the winner of your lip sync battle
Lip sync battles are usually judged by cheering, which rewards whoever went last and whoever filled the room with friends. Add each act to a Rankd with the song title, and share the link once the last act finishes, on the projector, in the event chat or by text. Everyone ranks every performance from their phone, so the act that opened the night is judged right next to the closer. Then reveal the winner on the big screen.
- Tasha: “Bohemian Rhapsody”
- Sales team: “Bye Bye Bye”
- Chris and Dee: “Islands in the Stream”
- Marco: “Single Ladies”
- Front desk crew: “Wannabe”
- Pat: “Total Eclipse of the Heart”
Free. Add your own options (these are just examples), then send one link to your group.
Why ranking beats a regular poll here
- Ranking every act gives the opening performer the same shot as the closer.
- Cheering rewards the loudest friends, while private rankings reward the best performance.
- The full order lets you hand out second and third place too.
How it works
- Add the question and 3 to 30 options
- Send one private link to the group
- Everyone ranks privately, in about a minute
- You reveal the winner
Tips
- Snap a photo of each act mid-performance and add it to the option, so people remember who did what.
- Share the link after the final act, so nobody ranks before everyone has performed.
- Set it to reveal automatically after a set number of votes, close to the size of the crowd.
Questions
Can performers vote too?
Yes. Performers rank every act like everyone else. With a full audience ranking, one performer putting their own act first won’t change much.
Can people see how I ranked?
No. Each person’s order stays private. Everyone sees the group’s final order and where they personally landed, never anyone else’s individual ranking.
Is it free? Does everyone need the app?
Rankd is free and runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download. Friends open the link from any group chat (iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email) and rank in about a minute.
